Is the shape of our logo of a NET?
The Kingdom of God is like a fishing net that is thrown into the waters and gathers fish (by which Jesus meant people) of every kind (Matthew 13:47). Jesus came to seek and save every person that is lost (Luke 19:10), and then Jesus said to his followers "Come, follow me and I will make you fishers of men" (Matthew 4:19). And later he sent them (and now us) out to tell everyone, everywhere his message of forgiveness and healing (Mark 16:15), so that every person who believes becomes a child of God (John 1:12), a citizen of God's people, a member of God's family and part of God's house where the world can meet Jesus (Ephesians 2:22).
We go out to spread the good news of Jesus to people around us, and to gather them to Jesus.
Is the shape of our logo of a FISH?
The fish symbol has been used by Christians since the first century. The greek word for "fish" is "Ichtus", which is the abbreviation of "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour". We are passionate fans and followers of Jesus. Knowing and following him has made an amazing difference to our lives. He is the only Saviour; there is no other name by which we can and must be saved (Acts 4:12). He is the only way to God. He is the truth, the way and the life (John 14:6). Only through him can we have a relationship with God the father. Only he can give us life and life in all its fulness (John 10:10) now and forever.
Jesus is the centre of our lives, and our desire is to make his name famous.
Is the shape of our logo of a WAVE?
Jesus said "If you are thirsty, come to me! If you believe in me, come and drink! Rivers of living water will flow out from within" (John 7:37). He was talking about the Holy Spirit who now lives in us. When we gave our life to Jesus, he not only made us a brand new person (2 Corinthians 5:17), but he also came to live in us (Acts 2:38) so that we become more and more like Jesus (Galatans 5:22). He enables us to be a bold witness to the world around us of all the amazing things God is doing (Acts 1:8) and he also enables us to do the same amazing things Jesus did and more! (John 14:12). To every situation where this river of life goes, every person who receives it has real life and becomes fruitful (Ezekiel 47:9).
We desire to be so full of the Holy Spirit that we overflow with this life of Jesus. We seek to flow with the Holy Spirit to wherever he leads us and to give God's abundant life to people: hope for a new life in a great relationship with God, as well as healing for the sick, freedom and forgiveness.
... or all three of them.
